Mother Nature certainly was in a good enough mood to grant our coastline the most outrageous rock formations with grottos protruding from the water in the most dramatic fashion creating caves with natural skylight piercing through and the rugged limestone cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. It is absolutely stunning everywhere you look here. We are in Lagos, West of the Southern Coast of Algarve in Portugal. Lagos is a little coastal and marina town with a very diverse and international demographic of people from all walks of life. Nestled in an urbanisation that is comfortably quiet and peaceful, it is a 10 minute walk to the longest beach in Portugal called Meia Praia, a 15 minute walk to the Lagos Marina and 20 to the centre of the old town centre. The astounding grottos of Ponta de Piedade and Praia Dona Ana sits around the corner, with Praia da Batata also within walking distance. The famous bucket-listed Benagil Caves is just 20km away, with the exquisite little town of Luz 10km the other way taking you all the way to Villa do Bispo and the end of the old world, Sagres. You will be spoilt for choice for things to do, beaches to pick from, food and drink here – that is for sure! A holiday in paradise.
